Fairfield Republicans Claim Voter Registrations Are Being 'Mishandled'
FAIRFIELD, CT — The Fairfield Republican Town Committee has scheduled a news conference for Thursday to discuss what leaders claim are “serious allegations of mishandling voter registrations” heading into the election in November.
Details of the allegations were not available on Wednesday. Patch reached out to Laura Devlin, committee chair and a former state representative, but she did not offer more information.
“Really what you have in the [media] advisory, is what you can share, but we will have more info tomorrow, too,” Devlin wrote in an email to Patch.

In the announcement for Thursday’s event, Devlin alludes to “new complaints” about voter registration mishandling, but did not release a timeline.
Whether the concerns are concentrated locally or statewide has not yet been disclosed, but state Republican leaders and area officials are scheduled to attend Thursday’s news conference, which suggests the claims may extend beyond Fairfield’s borders.
