Youcef Belaïli leaves his Brest house in a “deplorable state”
Le Télégramme reports that Youcef Belaïli has left the house he has been renting during his time with Brest in a “deplorable state”, as he prepares to leave Brittany just over half a year after first arriving.

The damage done is said to require up to €50,000 of renovation, with the player himself reportedly having simply packed up his bags and left the keys behind.
A source told the regional paper that “all of the mattresses had to be changed, the kitchen has to be changed. Given that the heating was set at 28 degrees all the time, the floor has crinkled under the effect of the humidity. Not to mention the cigarette butts in the bathtub, the cupboard doors ripped off, burning saucepans put down on the kitchen worktop… A real disaster.”
Reports from Foot Mercato yesterday indicated that the Algerian international was in advanced talks with the club to terminate his contract, as he never acclimated to Brittany despite the best efforts of his teammate Islam Slimani. However, according to L’Équipe talks are yet to start, even if the player is indeed unhappy at not being selected and is not able to bring his family over due to a visa issue.
