Political junkies are treating the two-night Democratic primary debates like a Beltway Super Bowl — by scheduling watch parties, drafting the rules for drinking games and mocking up bingo cards.
The MIST gastropub in Harlem is one of several venues in New York holding viewing parties, blasting the first night Wednesday across “three huge screens,” complete with a $5 happy hour bar and a DJ, according to the West 116th Street joint’s site.
“Network with like-minded Dems!” crows an announcement for the bash. “Mingle with Local Elected Officials!”
The Big Stick, a Washington, DC, brewhouse, tweeted out rules for a debate drinking game seemingly guaranteed to leave blue voters green around the gills.
“Drink every time a candidate says they’ll be different than POTUS,” reads one rule. “Drink every time Trump is mentioned in any capacity.
“Chug if they mention the 2016 election.”
For the hangover-averse, an abundance of debate bingo cards floated around Twitter, packed with lefty buzzwords.
“End children in cages,” reads a square on one of five cards featured on the website of the left-leaning UniteBlue advocacy group.
Other squares on the game boards include “impeach,” “legalize marijuana,” “no [border] wall” and “no Iran War.”
