NYC Ferry service went off without a hitch on Memorial Day — because it was so abysmal the day before that many would-be passengers gave it a wide berth.

After hundreds of riders baked in the blazing sun for up to 90 minutes waiting in line Sunday — only for some to be unable to board as overcrowded vessels skipped their stops — many took the hint and bagged the shoddy service on Monday.

At Wall Street’s Pier 11, scene of the longest waits on Sunday, a line of fewer than 20 people waited to catch the ferry to Rockaway Beach in Queens on Monday morning. Many of Monday’s passengers were international tourists.

And at Brooklyn’s Sunset Park dock, where Sunday’s riders were confronted with ferries so packed that they couldn’t get on, few bothered to show up on Monday.

NYC Ferry said it did not increase its service for Memorial Day. It ran on its summer schedule, with boats every 30 minutes.

“I heard the line was six blocks down yesterday. We lucked out today,’’ said ferry rider Michelle Alenezi, 29, of Manhattan.

Mayor de Blasio’s Economic Development Corp. has sunk at least $582 million into NYC Ferry since its inception in 2017.

Customers of the beleaguered service on Sunday gave it two thumbs down.

“We won’t do it again,” said Kristen Ryan, 54, at Rockaway Beach. “Ever.”
