4 Weed Businesses, Including 'Limited' Retailer, Coming To Cinnaminson

CINNAMINSON, NJ — Several weed businesses have received the green light to set up shop in Cinnaminson, including a manufacturer that will open a small dispensary, township officials told Patch.

Local officials have given four businesses, primarily manufacturers, full approval to set up shop in Cinnaminson’s Cannabis Establishment Overlay Zone — a segment of the township’s industrial areas where weed businesses can operate. The businesses were all approved at different times in recent years.

Green Lightning Cannabis is on track to set up shop first, with Phase 1 manufacturing expected to start Dec. 1. The business will also offer “very limited retail,” projected to begin in July 2025, Township Administrator Eric J. Schubiger told Patch.

Dispensary operations will only take up a small portion of Green Lightning’s 25,000-square-foot manufacturing facility on 1503 Taylors Ln. Fewer than 1,500 square feet will be dedicated to retail.

Out of the four approved businesses, only Green Lightning intends to have any retail operations whatsoever. In 2021, the Township Committee passed cannabis regulations that prohibit recreational dispensaries, with one exception. Cannabis cultivators (growers) and manufacturers (businesses that make cannabis into products to be sold) can operate a small dispensary as an accessory use of their building.

Retail operations cannot exceed 3,000 square feet or 10 percent of the facility, whichever is less.

Three other businesses have received full township approval:

July’s Harvest anticipates construction to begin Dec. 1, with manufacturing to get underway at the start of July 2025, Schubiger said. It’s unclear when Capitol Extracts or Top Strike Resources might open, as neither have applied for construction permits.
