LA GRANGE, IL – La Grange is looking at a developer’s request to construct a four-story building that would include apartments and businesses.

The development would be from 811 to 901 W. Hillgrove Ave.

Those addresses include the local Boy Scouts of America office, Hillgrove Family Chiropractic and the Bernard Martin Law Office, among other businesses.

Last month, the developer invited neighbors to ask questions in a Zoom discussion. According to the developer’s invitation, the building would consist of first-floor businesses and 31 apartments, with parking on site.

The Plan Commission is set to review the proposal at its meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at Village Hall.

The village has yet to post the developer’s application, but it is expected to do so Friday. The village says the application is currently under review.

According to the village, the development is being requested by 817-821 West Hillgrove LLC. The firm, which has the address of a Burr Ridge law firm, involuntarily dissolved in February, according to Illinois Secretary of State’s Office records.

Attorney Tom Foley of La Grange Fornaro Law was the contact on the developer’s invitation for the Zoom session. He could not be reached for immediate comment Tuesday.

A petition is online for residents who say they are concerned about the development.
