A 16-year-old girl was arrested in Delhi today after she shot and injured the mother of a teen boy who had allegedly raped her in 2021, police said.

Girl shot at 50-year-old woman with a pistol

In the dramatic incident in Bhajanpura area of the national capital, the girl shot at the 50-year-old woman with a pistol around 5:30 pm on Saturday, it is learnt. The victim, a resident of Subhash Mohalla, was taken to a hospital by the locals, a senior police officer said.

Police *apprehended a minor girl who allegedly shot woman earlier today. During the probe, it came to light that the minor girl earlier in 2021 registered FIR against the victim woman’s son under charges of rape. The woman is under treatment & legal action initiated: Delhi Police

The woman runs a grocery shop and her son, accused of rape, is a minor, hence identities have not been revealed. The woman has currently been admitted to GTB Hospital, police said.

The girl has been apprehended and police have also recovered the pistol.

Victim had registered FIR in 2021

During the initial investigation, it came to light that the minor girl earlier in 2021 registered FIR against the victim woman’s son under charges of rape. The case was reportedly registered against the minor boy under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Another shocker from MP

In another incident, a 17-year-old girl allegedly murdered his mother with the help of her lover in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior district on December 31. The shocking incident took place in the Gadaipura locality of the district. The girl first gave sleeping pills to her 38-year-old mother and then reportedly called her lover. They both strangled and stabbed the woman to death.
